Capability — Managed Systems
Managed Systems
Launch is the beginning. We operate, monitor, and extend production systems as a long-term responsibility — including air-gapped and compliance-grade environments where security and governance are non-negotiable.
Talk to usSection 01 / What this means to us
We operate what we build
A system is something to maintain, not a launch to celebrate. We carry reliability, security, and cost as ongoing responsibilities, with control built into the architecture.
- 01
Reliability we stand behind
We instrument systems so problems surface before users hit them, and we carry production responsibility for what we run.
- 02
Secure by architecture
For sensitive environments, control sits at the infrastructure boundary — air-gapped and self-hosted where the data demands it.
- 03
Governed by design
Permissions, auditable actions, and controlled overrides are foundational, so the system stays accountable as it evolves.
- 04
Evolves without drift
We extend live systems on reusable foundations, adding capability without eroding the reliability or compliance already earned.
Section 02 / How we do it
Run, secure, and extend in production
We combine self-hosted and governed infrastructure, observability, and disciplined operations to keep systems healthy and compliant over time.
Self-hosted & air-gapped AI
Open-source models deployed inside institutional boundaries, with a governed application layer over them for real workflow value.
Compliance-grade platforms
HIPAA-aligned and policy-governed service architectures, designed for controlled, auditable rollout.
Observability & operations
Monitoring, alerting, and cost visibility so reliability and spend are managed together, continuously.
Reproducible infrastructure
Everything defined as code, so environments are auditable, repeatable, and recoverable rather than hand-assembled.
Section 03 / In practice
Systems we run and govern
How we operate sensitive, compliance-grade systems in production.
An air-gapped LLM application layer
Problem
Dealer-brokers needed faster access to synthesized information and more relevant retail outreach, without exposing sensitive data to external AI services.
Approach
We deployed an air-gapped open-source LLM environment and built the extensible application layer over it — an AI assistant for dealer-brokers and behavior-aware retail marketing — with control held at the infrastructure boundary.
Outcome
A secure, extensible AI foundation that is useful in high-tempo decisions while keeping data inside institutional boundaries.
Flex5: a HIPAA-grade health platform launch
Problem
Reality Meets Science needed a production-capable, HIPAA-aligned platform that could launch quickly without accruing compliance or architecture debt.
Approach
We built the application and platform layer end to end — a mobile-first experience, secure backend services, and an extensible AI orchestration layer for controlled, scalable rollout of coaching and engagement functions.
Outcome
A launch-ready system with HIPAA-aligned governance and a credible base for enterprise conversations and iterative growth.
Section 04 / Practice lead
Nahid Reza
Head of EngineeringNahid leads the practices that keep Ternary's production systems reliable and accountable after launch. He owns the operational discipline behind run-and-operate engagements, from observability to governed change.
- 01Head of Engineering, Ternary
- 02Owns run-and-operate and reliability practices
- 03Leads governed, secure-by-architecture delivery
