DoYouWork: Transforming Field-Service Operations With an Integrated Employee Platform
Ternary built DoYouWork, a unified mobile and admin platform for Amistee's field-service operations—consolidating scheduling, asset management, and approvals into a single, multi-tenant, real-time system that replaces fragmented tools and paperwork.
The story
How we approached the work, what we built, and why it matters.
Overview
DoYouWork is a unified mobile and admin platform built to replace fragmented tools and manual processes in field-service operations.
Ternary's role was to consolidate scheduling, asset management, and workflow approvals into a scalable, single-source system.
Client & Segment
Amistee Air Duct, Insulation & Cleaning—Novi, Michigan; field service.
The client needed a solution that serves both field employees requiring self-service tools and managers needing centralized, real-time operational visibility.
Problem
Field-service managers lacked a real-time, unified view of daily operations—schedules, vehicle assignments, and approval statuses.
Employees had no self-service for essential requests such as expenses, spiffs, time-off, and tools or clothing, relying instead on slow paperwork.
Solution
Ternary delivered a three-app ecosystem: a native-quality mobile employee app built with Capacitor, a web admin portal for managers, and a scalable FastAPI backend.
Features include role-based access control, location-based data scoping, multi-tenant architecture, real-time WebSocket notifications, and secure AWS S3 integration for approval workflows.
Impact
The platform launched a unified, mobile-first digital system, replacing manual processes with real-time operational visibility and location-based manager approvals.
With robust RBAC and multi-tenancy, the self-service solution provides a scalable, extensible foundation for future growth—particularly for field technicians.
Tech Stack
React 19 for the web portal, Capacitor for the mobile application, and FastAPI for the backend API.
PostgreSQL as the primary database, Redis for caching and sessions, and AWS for hosting and file storage.
Why It Matters
Platform consolidation in field service immediately delivers real-time operational visibility and workflow efficiency.
It replaces fragmented tools and paper-based processes with a single, accountable source of truth.
